Android Gingerbread Screenshot

Latest Android release, Gingerbread, is coming soon to a phone, but we can peek at the software developer kit. Here's what's new and popular on Android 2.3: better typing, appear darker, detailed battery and memory reports, and much more.

Google has "launched" Gingerbread, which, for them, means that users of Android SDK can create virtual devices running Android 2.3, update their applications to take advantage of new API in the system, and otherwise play around. They also released an official video, explaining the highlights of Android, offering an official user guide (direct PDF link), and displayed in the advertisements of Gingerbread Nexus S style.

But for a big picture view of what is new, we create our own phone small Gingerbread virtual and poked around. Here's what you'll see when you own Android phone hits Android 2.3.
